Turkish Insurance Sector will devolope day by day
  15.04.2011

The latest data on Turkish tourism shows a 10 percent year-on-year growth in British visitors in 2010, a British property purchase consultant focusing on Turkey reported on its website.

According to the data released by the Spot Blue agency, Turkey received an impressive 28.6 million visitors last year – 2.67 million of those were British.

"Turkey has gone from strength to strength in the U.K. market," said Tolga Tüylüoğlu, senior director from Turkey’s Culture and Tourism Office, adding that Turkey has been one of the fastest-growing destinations for British visitors, the website reported.

In the last few years there has been much data to show the growth in the Turkish property market and almost as much to show that growth in British tourists is a large part of the change. According to Tüylüoğlu, Brits are continually being drawn by the fantastic value for money on offer in Turkey.

In early 2009 the Association of British Travel Agents talked of 20 percent growth in British tourists in 2008. The Culture and Tourism Ministry reported 9.06 percent growth in 2009, and this has continued strongly into 2010.

“Lest we not forget the state of international tourism during these times, all in all we have a bright future of growth in tourism to Turkey, and the target of Brits being level with Germans as the largest tourism market, with 3 million yearly visitors is getting close enough to touch,” said Tüylüoğlu.
