Turkish industry minister addresses Developing 8 summit
  14.10.2011

Turkish Science, Industry and Technology Minister Nihat Ergun on Thursday delivered a speech at closing session of the industry ministers´ summit meeting of the Group of Developing 8 in Istanbul.

Ergun said D-8 countries held a great potential with their economies, natural resources and large populations, adding that each member country had its own advantages in line with its geographical position, culture and history.

"No matter how vast those advantages are, without materializing them in the hands of the people they are of no use to prosperity. Turkey has been investing for the past nine years in its human resources and real sector, the two sources of true prosperity," Ergun said.

Ergun also called for a web portal to secure fast and accurate flow of information between the D-8 members and to establish a commercial data base for companies.
