Turkish economy minister meets Turkish businessmen in California
  19.08.2011

Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan hosted a fast-breaking dinner for Turkish businessmen in California on Sunday.

Caglayan said that Turkey should take more share from U.S. trade, adding that Turkey was the 17th biggest economy of the world and the 6th of Europe.

Noting that they had been implementing intensive strategies to include Turkey in top ten economies of the world, Caglayan said that Turkish businessmen should quit being shy in exporting products to the USA.

Caglayan said that the amount of direct foreign investments made in Turkey reached 95 billion USD in the last nine years thanks to political and economic stability.

Recalling that he arrived in the U.S. after completing his talks in South Korea, Caglayan said that number of his visits to foreign countries reached 99 in the last 25 months, adding that he paid those visits to contribute to Turkish exports.

Caglayan will attend a seminar on Turkish-U.S. economic relations and hold bilateral talks with businessmen on Monday.
