Turkish economy minister meets Chinese businesspeople
  23.09.2011

Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan on Sunday met with a group of Chinese businesspeople in the southern province of Mersin.

"Turkey is a country of opportunities with its unique geographical position and its young population. Turkey is within reach of 56 countries by only a four-hour plane trip and it is a gateway to a quarter of the world's population," Caglayan told the Chinese businesspeople.

"For China the route to Europe passes through Turkey. This has always been the case in the past."

Caglayan also said Mersin offered many opportunities in transportation, commerce, tourism and agriculture, inviting Chinese businesspeople to make investments in the province.
