Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan attended on Thursday ceremonies to mark the 20th anniversary of Turkmenistan´s independence.

Caglayan was also received by Turkmenistan's President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.
Berdimuhamedow said that Turkish entrepreneurs and companies had great contributions to development of his country.

"Turkey's contributions continue in several areas such as finance, economy, trade and production," he said.

In regard to a 7.2 magnitude earthquake that shook eastern Turkish province of Van, Berdimuhamedow said they were ready to extend every kind of support to Turkey.

Caglayan recalled that Turkish companies assumed projects worth 4.5 billion U.S. dollars in Turkmenistan last year, stating that they would reach a similar figure this year as well.
