Turkish cooperation council to meet in Kazakhstan

Turkic Language Speaking Countries Cooperation Council will hold its first meeting in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Kazakh Foreign Ministry said on Monday that the council would meet in Almaty on October 20-21.



 


Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will also participate in the meeting as well as Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kyrgyz President Roza Otunbaeva and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Participants will debate international and regional problems, and economic, political and cultural cooperation among their countries. They are expected to sign Almaty declaration at the end of the summit.

The Turkic Council was established in 2009 with Nazarbayev's proposal. Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan are members to the council.

Erdogan is set to arrive in Kazakh capital of Astana on October 19, and meet Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov on October 20 and then proceed to Almaty.
