Turkish Airlines to buy 50 pct of LOT
  25.05.2012

Economy Minister Zafer Çağlayan said yesterday that Turkish Airlines would be acquiring a 50 percent stake in Poland’s LOT Airlines. However, the technical talks were still continuing, Cağlayan also said during a business meeting in Warsaw.

He added that he hoped the negotiations would not take too long.

Deal with JetBlue Airways

Meanwhile, yesterday Turkish Airlines announced that it had made an agreement with American JetBlue Airways to connect the carriers’ networks at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Washington D.C’s Dulles International Airport.

Through this new partnership, customers will be able to transfer in either U.S. city between Turkish Airlines and JetBlue-operated flights.

JetBlue offers connections to and from dozens of cities throughout the U.S. including Boston, Massachusetts; Buffalo/Niagara Falls, New York; Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina; Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, Florida; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Headquartered in Istanbul, THY operates scheduled services to 150 international and 41 domestic cities (38 domestic airports), serving a total of 187 airports in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.
JetBlue Airways Corporation is an American low-cost airline.
