Turkish Airlines ranks 2nd in world´s airline catering category

Turkish Airlines (THY) took the second place in the World´s Best Economy Class Airline Catering for Product Quality at the 2011 World Airline Awards.



 


A statement by THY said on Friday that according to survey by Skytrax, THY ranked the second in the world's best economy class catering. Thai Airways was named winner and Asiana Airlines took the third position.

Voted by over 18.8 million airline passengers from 100 different nationalities, the World Airline Awards are the most prestigious and respected quality recognition of front-line product and service standards across the world airline industry. With 200 airlines featured, the awards reflect customer satisfaction levels across 38 different items of airline front-line product and service.

Skytrax is a world recognised brand associated with air travel excellence in the 21st century, providing unique expertise to the world airline and airport industry through the most professional Audit and Service Benchmarking programmes of Product and Service Quality.

Turkish Airlines began 78 years ago with 5 airplanes and today has 169 (passenger and cargo) airplanes. The airline's main base is at Atatürk International Airport.
