Zafer Caglayan told participants of the opening ceremony through video-conference that Turkey would become one of the ten biggest economies of the world on the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey in 2023.

"We are determined to increase our exports up to $500 billion and the rate of exports meeting imports will be higher than 80 percent by 2023," he said. "As for exports of services, Turkey reached $34 billion while its imports of service amounted to $19 billion in 2010," he said.

Caglayan added, "today, Turkey has become a country playing an important role in world economy and politics. We travelled to India three days ago and we made business deals worth of $1 billion in two days. Actually, we have changed our route in foreign trade. Our new route covers China, India, Indonesia, the USA and Russia. These countries' total imports are higher than $5 trillion. But their imports from Turkey are only $11.5 billion. We are going to do our utmost to promote Turkey andour goods in those countries."
