Göktürk-2, the second satellite that was developed with the national resources with the cooperation of engineers from TUBİTAK and TAI as well as RASAT, will be sent to the space from a satellite launch-pad in China.
The launch of Göktürk-2 is planned to be realized on a date between December 15 and 25, 2012.
TUBİTAK Space Technologies Research Institute Vice Chairman Tamer Beşer said the main operator of the satellite is Turkish Defense Ministry and added, "All software and hardware of Göktürk-2 is hundred percent Turkish productions. National flight computer, all flight software and ground station software are home-made."
Turkish Göktürk-2 earth observation satellite, which had its final tests in France, weighs 450 kilograms with 2.5 meters of resolution.
