Turkey´s Halkbank posts 1.03 bln liras in net profits

Turkey’s state-run Halkbank has posted a net profit of 1.03 billion Turkish Liras ($607 million) for the first half of 2011.



 


In a written statement released Tuesday, Halkbank said the total loans amount it issued reached a figure of 67 billion liras in the given period. Halkbank aims to issue 25 percent more loans in 2011 compared to the previous year, the statement continued. Halkbank is the seventh largest bank in Turkey in terms of assets, operating 586 branches across the country.
