  08.04.2011

Turkey’s Martı Hotels & Marinas was awarded the Best Performance Prize at the Ukraine International Travel and Tourism Fair, or UITT, which was held March 23 through 25.

The event, which was attended by close to 1,000 companies from 78 countries, is Ukraine’s largest tourism fair.

The event was organized by the British company ITE Travel Exhibitions. At the accompanying award ceremony, Martı Hotels & Marinas was recognized for their participation and contribution to the fair.

Eray Solmaz, sales director of Martı Hotels & Marinas, received the prize on behalf of the company. In his acceptance speech Solmaz said that in particular the developments of the last few years had led to an increased interest by Ukrainian tourists in Turkey, a trend he expects to continue with the abolishment of the visa practice.

After the renovation of the Martı Resort and Martı Myra, Martı Hotels & Marinas will receive its guests in 2011 season with a new face,” Solmaz said. After the renovations he expects a marked increase in reservations in particular from tour operators.

This year, the UITT Fair, organized on a 12,500 square-meter area, was held for the 17th time and attracted 17,000 visitors. Almost 1,000 representatives of hotels, tourism associations and press organizations from 78 countries participated in the fair.

According to the press release, Turkish participation in 2011 was 15 percent higher over the previous year, with about 30 participants from provincial and districts administrations, tourism associations, tour operators and hotels.

Every year over 450,000 Ukrainian tourists spend their holiday in Turkey, with most of them coming between May and September. Turkey has developed into one of Ukraine’s most favored holiday destinations. It is expected that this year will see more Ukrainian visitors than ever
