The Polish Zlotych came in second place with an increase in value of 8.4% against the pound. However this fascinating country has much to offer beyond value including great skiing and a fascinating culture.
For those wanting to 'be in America', the US dollar is once again offering good value up 8% year on year from 2010.
Dubai comes in fourth place and the favorable currency combined with duty free and sunshine guaranteed makes it a popular choice, especially with flights to Dubai from as little as GBP 293.
But which currencies have gained against the pound? Avoid the Alps as it is now even more expensive than it once was. If value to the pound is a priority then also steer clear of Australia and Thailand.
