“The parties are willing to enhance consultations in the energy sector, exchange information on energy policies, strategies, technologies and projects, and create opportunities and accommodate concrete cooperation between energy enterprises of the two countries in Turkey, in China and in third countries,” reads the memorandum, which was signed by authorities of the two countries in June 2009.
The five-year cooperation deal was undersigned by the Turkish Energy Ministry on July 25, 2011, with a possibility of expanding the validity of the deal upon agreement by both countries.
Large range of fields
Cooperation will be focused in fields such as nuclear power, boron technologies, renewable energy, thermal power, energy conservation, hydrocarbon exploration and production and mining technologies. Other fields of cooperation are production of solar energy equipment and hydroelectric power plants.
Turkey and China will not only collaborate at the Energy Ministry level, but also create partnerships with related enterprises and research institutions from both countries, according to the deal.
