Turkey: Catastrophe Insurance Pool improves degree of penetration
  10.10.2014

The Turkish Insurance Association said the country´s Catastrophe Insurance Pool has to date issued around 6.6 million policies for a penetration rate of 37%, reports 1asig.ro.

Kerem Ozdag, deputy secretary general of the Association of Insurance Reinsurance and Pension Companies of Turkey, said the penetration rate is "still low for a compulsory insurance," though the coverage level is expected to increase soon. About 93% of the Turkish territory is vulnerable to a catastrophic risk and around 98% of the Turkish population lives in these regions, Mr. Ozdag said.
