Focus on Travel News and New Focus Travel Magazine attended Travel Turkey 2010 which is held in cooperation with İZFAŞ, Türkiye Seyahat Acentaları Birliği (TÜRSAB) and Hannover-Messe International İstanbul.
Travel Turkey 2010 opening ceremony was held with speeches from TÜRSAB President Başaran Ulusoy, Izmir Chamber of Commerce President Ekrem Demirtaş, İzmir Metropolitan Deputy Mayor Sırrı Aydoğan, Ordu Gorvernor Orhan Düzgün, Osmaniye Governor Celalettin Cerrah, İzmir Governor Mustafa Cahit Kıraç, TRNC Tourism, Environment and Culture Minister Kemal Dürüst and Turkish Culture and Tourism Minister Ertuğrul Günay. International Partner City; Zagreb welcomed guests with their famous cellist Ana Rucner's musical performance.
Over 500 companies from 16 countries took part at this year's exhibition which hosted Croatian city of Zagreb as the partner city from Europe, Ordu and Osmaniye cities from Turkey.
Travel Turkey 2010 drew great interest to Greek islands such as Midilli, Chios and Samos. Participating companies from these islands promoted travel to Greek islands as well as to Greece. Additionally, visitors of Travel Turkey showed interest to Syria, Egypt, Tunisia, Germany, Northern Cyprus, Jordan, Kosovo, Macedonia, and South Africa. Visitors to these countries got travel information as well as soveniours such as this summer's most discussed topic; the vuvuzela, the noise-making trumpet of South African football fans, can be get from South Africa stand.
Within the scope of the Travel Turkey İzmir 2010 Tourism event, purchasers and tourism media from the tour operators and travel agencies operating in Greece, Spain, Croatia, Montenegro, Qatar, Kosovo, Russia, Italy, Egypt, Bosnia-Herzegovina, United Arab Emirates and Iran attended the event as ‘Hosted Buyers' and networked with Turkish sellers. Foreign guests also enjoyed Izmir city tour prior to visit the exhibition and also visited world-famous ancient city of Ephesus and Virgin Mary's house before leaving Izmir.
