Towers Watson opens Istanbul office
  15.04.2011

Towers Watson has expanded its presence in Turkey by establishing a subsidiary in Istanbul.

Süha Alici, who has been with the group since 2007, has been appointed as managing consultant of the new unit.

The professional services firm has been working with clients in Turkey for the past ten years and regional manager, EMEA, Babloo Ramamurthy, comments: “Turkey is now a large and rapidly-growing economy with an increasing demand for the services we offer.”

He adds: “The opening of our new office in Istanbul is a significant step towards providing the full range of services that our growing client base there requires.”

According to Mr Alici multinational companies are increasing their presence in the country and a large number of local companies are now keen to adopt global best practice, making Turkey a very attractive market.

Last month Towers Watson completed the acquisition of EMB, the non-life consulting and software company, saying that the move will result in the formation of Europe’s largest non-life actuarial consultancy.

EMB is currently being integrated into the group’s global risk consulting and software business, with no loss of jobs.
