The First Concession Fee is paid for Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport

The Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport’s first concession fee payment totaled €76,514,851 is paid by the consortium that is comprised of Malaysia Airports, GMR Infrastructure Limited and Limak Group of Turkey.



 


The consortium signed a Build-Operate-Transfer Model for Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (SGIA) Terminal Building and its Complementaries with the Turkish Government. Within this perspective first concession fee payment is paid yesterday to the Turkey’s Under-secretariat for Defense Industries.

A ceremony organized for the payment at SGIA Airport Hotel with the participation of Chairman of SGIA’s Board of Directors; Nihat Özdemir, SGIA and Limak Group Board Member Ebru Özdemir, SGIA Board Member and GMR CEO for Turkey Cenk Alpsoy, SGIA CEO Gökhan Buğday, and executives from SGIA.
 
The new Terminal Building at the Sabiha Gökçen International Airport is built to enable the airport to cater up to 15 million passengers per annum.
Last year, the airport broke records by handling 11.6 million passengers.
The total concession fee is €1.93 Billion and is structured over a 20 year concession period, with no concession fees payable in first three years.
