Taxes collected in first half of 2011 please Turkish government

The Turkish government collected 122.7 billion Turkish liras (approx. 71.6 billion USD) in taxes in the first six months of 2011 out of a total tax liability of 176.3 billion TL (approx. 102.9 billion USD).

The Turkish government collected 122.7 billion Turkish liras (approx. 71.6 billion USD) in taxes in the first six months of 2011 out of a total tax liability of 176.3 billion TL (approx. 102.9 billion USD).

Compared to the same period in 2010, Turkish government's tax income increased by 24.4 percent.

79.3 percent of all tax income came from four Turkish provinces.

The Turkish government collected 54.6 billion TL (approx. 31.8 billion USD) in Istanbul and 15.1 billion TL (approx. 8.81 billion USD) in Kocaeli in taxes in the first half of 2011.

The government's tax revenue from re-structured taxes was recorded as 8.2 billion TL (approx. 4.7 billion USD).
