Founded in Bali in 1995, the Mandara Spa brand is operated by a subsidiary of Steiner Leisure Limited and operates in over 20 countries across the globe. Last year saw the first Mandara Spa launch in Europe at Lotte Hotel, Moscow in Russia answering the demand for authentic Balinese therapies worldwide.
Inspired by the exciting modern lines of the new Park Plaza hotel, the brief for the Mandara Spa interiors was to mirror the feel of the hotel with a contemporary twist, whilst maintaining the luxurious touch of Asia. The 700 sq meter spa offers guests a unique sensory experience, inviting you to escape your world and indulge in a ‘Mandara Moment’.
The interiors of the Mandara spa have drawn inspiration from around the world from Mondrian paintings to Japanese Shoji screens, focusing on the lines to showcase the Asian elements. A giant bamboo forest has been created with Petung bamboo cleverly integrated with coloured hand‐blown glass, embedded with Mandara Spa ingredients such as Ylang Ylang, Coffee and Lavender.
At the entrance a beautiful ancient Sanskrit writing scroll of Balinese flowers flows along the curved ceilings, whilst the spa’s warmth exudes from mood lit with ‘tear drops’ and ‘cubes’ designed with new environmentally friendly, plug‐less LED technology, charged through magnetic induction. To encourage clients to leave their worries at the door, they are greeted by an ever flowing black stone fountain of water, essential for the absorption of negative energy. The overall effect is an exciting modern twist in bringing some exquisite elements of Bali to Britain.
Facilities include 9 spacious and warm treatment rooms – one double for couples or friends and eight singles, three of which have en‐suite showers.
In addition to the unique Mandara Spa body therapies, the spa menu also provides signature Elemis facials and detox therapies plus manicures, pedicures and waxing, courtesy of Bliss. There is also a selection of “add on” services ‐ from a 20 minute power nap for the ultimate relaxation experience or a glass of champagne and seasonal berries. Guests will also be offered complementary fruit juices and appetizers after each treatment, which they can enjoy in the lounge area.
All Mandara Spa treatments will be performed by therapists who have been specially trained by Balinese trainer and all aspects of the spa experience have been tailored to ensure true authenticity to the Balinese way.
The warm service of these spa specialists is of the utmost importance to making sure guests immediately feel relaxed and cared‐for. With a bespoke face, body and grooming treatment menu the spa will cater for both time rich and time poor clientele and is open to anyone whether a hotel guest or not.
Adjacent to Mandara Spa is the Fitness Centre which features a gymnasium, steam and sauna rooms, a 15 metre heated swimming pool and changing rooms.
The Spa Boutique will offer Mandara Spa’s beautiful range of home, bath and body products as well as luxury products from Elemis and best sellers from the Bliss range, allowing customers to continue the spa experience when they return home.
