Turkish State Railways, or TCDD, will stage the maiden run of a new high-speed rail line connecting Ankara with the Central Anatolian province of Konya later this month.
The new 250-kilometer-long line cost 1 billion Turkish Liras, TCDD officials said.
TCDD will use 12 high-speed train sets with a maximum speed of 300 kilometers per hour and procure six more sets with a speed of up to 350 kilometers per hour.
