Istanbul 2010 completes the renovation of ´Tourism Information Offices´

Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency completed the renovation of ´Tourism Information Offices´ for ensuring better service to tourists visiting Istanbul.



 


Within the scope of the renovation project, tourism offices in Atatürk Airport, Karaköy and Sultanahmet have been renovated while new tourism offices were opened in Sabiha Gökçen International Airport and Taksim. Lastly, the tourism information office in Sirkeci was renovated as well.

Newly established Sirkeci Tourism Information Office was introduced by an opening held on Friday, December 31st hosted by Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency and Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism and joined by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Emre Bilgili the Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency.

Outlining the importance of tourism information offices in promotion and introduction of Istanbul to domestic and foreign tourists by providing useful and correct information, Ahmet Emre Bilgili the Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency and also the Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism told about actual functioning of the tourism information offices with reference to the number of their daily visitors..
Playing an important role for introducing Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture, the tourism information offices serve with their renovated faces.

Within the scope of the goal set by Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency’s Tourism and Promotion Directorate for “enhancing and enriching perceptions on Istanbul”, the tourism information offices in Atatürk Airport, Taksim, Karaköy, Sirkeci, Sultanahmet and Sabiha Gökçen Airport were renovated in general outlook, physical design and technical equipment.

Along with renovations and renewals of office equipment, file cabinets and closets, fax and copy machines, A/C etc, signs, grounds and walls have been painted and renovated. New computers and info-kiosks have been installed for better service.
