Industry index at new highs
  26.08.2011

Turkey’s industrial development index hit a record high in 13 years to reach 130.9 points in the first half of 2011, according to a survey conducted by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry, or ISO.

The survey indicated that the index is expected to increase further to as high as 138.8 points for the second half of this year.

The increase in the index highlighted a growth of 11.4 percent in the country’s manufacturing industry in the first half of 2011, compared to the second half of 2010, ISO’s executive director, Tanil Kucuk, told reporters in a press meeting on Friday.
