TurkStat said on Friday that in the sub sectors level of industry, mining sector increased 0.5 percent, manufacturing sector index increased 8.7 percent, while electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply index rose 5.1 percent in May 2011 when compared to May 2010.

Calendar adjusted production index in May 2011 increased 5.1 percent compared to May 2010, and seasonal and calendar adjusted industrial production index decreased 0.3 percent compared to previous month.
