Britain was impressed by Turkish economy, Cable told the AA ahead of his visit to Turkey on Monday.
Cable said that he accompanied by 15-member delegation and he would hold talks in Turkey, stating that his visit aimed at improving strategic partnership on which a document was inked by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and British Prime Minister David Cameron last year.
Cable said his visit also aimed at boosting trade and investments between Turkey and Britain.
Turkey had the world's fastest-growing economy currently and Turkey achieved great successes thanks to low inflation, political stability and democratic government, he said. "We want to boost our relations with Turkey," he said.
Replying to a question, Cable said that if Turkish businessmen faced some problems regarding visa procedure, he would like to be informed about the matter and lift obstacles as soon as possible.
Cable said that his country supported Turkey's EU accession bid, stating that he hoped that current economic situation in EU would change some EU countries' stance against Turkey's EU accession.
Turkey's dynamic economy would make great contributions to EU, he added. |
