Almost 27.5 million tourists visit Turkey in 11 months

The number of tourists visiting Turkey went up 6.25 percent between January and November, when compared with the same term last year, and reached 27,466,301.



 


Germany is the country that sent most tourists to Turkey while Russia and Britain followed.

Most of the foreign tourists visiting Turkey entered the country via Antalya.

15.42 percent of all tourists arriving in Turkey came from Germany while 11.15 percent came from Russia and 9.61 percent came from Britain.

Between January and November 2010, Germany sent 4,235,863 tourists to Turkey while Russia sent 3,061,977 tourists and Britain sent 2,640,674 tourists.

In November, the number of tourists visiting Turkey went up 6.22 percent when compared with the same period last year and reached 1,491,005.

Germany, Iran and Bulgaria were the top three countries sending most tourists to Turkey in November.
