Air Passenger Numbers Increase in Turkey

General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMI) stated that passengers using airports in Turkey rose 21 percent from a year ago to 96.3 million in the first 11 months. DHMI estimates that number of passengers may likely to surpass 100 million mark by the end of 2010



 


According to November flight traffic, there is an increase of 19,5% in domestic routes with 457,919 flights and 14,5% increase in international routes with 396,317 flights. With the over flight of 270,785, total traffic reached 1,125,021.
 
Passengers using Istanbul Ataturk airport, Turkey’s biggest, increased an annual eight percent to 29.7 million in the period. A total of 7,120,473 passengers used airports in Turkey in November 2010. Passenger traffic recorded an 19,8% increase in domestic routes, and 20,8% increase in international routes during November.
