Turkish Industrialists' & Businessmen's Association (TUSIAD) Chairperson Umit Boyner held a press conference after holding talks in Washington.
Boyner said that Brookings Institution and TUSIAD reached an agreement to establish "TUSIAD-U.S.-Turkey Forum", stating that the agreement was of great importance for Turkey's position and its place in the world. Boyner said that under this forum events would be held in Turkey and the United States as well as researches regarding the two countries would be conducted. "We attach a great importance to this forum that will strengthen our position especially in the transatlantic region," she said.
Boyner said that during their visit to Washington, they held a working meeting with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and prepared a report on Turkish-U.S. commercial ties, problems and proposals.
TUSIAD members also met with senior officials of U.S. Department of State and White House National Security Council, she said.
Replying to a question, Boyner said that Turkish-U.S. relations have normalized in the recent period.
