A First in the Insurance Industry
  02.03.2014

Making a name for itself with its social responsibility projects, HDI Sigorta has brought in another new and become the first insurance company acquiring the “Green Office Certificate” from WWF-World Wide Fund for Nature.

Signing an agreement with the WWF in April 2013, HDI Sigorta joined the program in late June after intensive infrastructure building works. The responsible executives of the company who had targeted to reduce the electricity and water consumption as well as to raise the awareness of the employees have achieved their targets and acquired the certificate just within 7 months before the elapse of the 1-year period allowed by the WWF. Within the scope of the project, which is supported by internal volunteers and by activities such as tree planting, the electricity power saved by HDI Sigorta within 7 months is equal to the electricity consumption of a family of 4 over a period of “41” years.

HDI Sigorta as the first insurer having introduced this innovative project, celebrated its success with
a so-called “Green Party” at the head office. From the WWF, Engin Şenol, the general manager and the member of the board of trustees, Arzu Balkuv, the projects director, and Münevver Bayhan, the corporate relations director, attended the party.

All employees of HDI Sigorta who attended the party wore something green and enjoyed foods and beverages such as lemonade, green apples, green cookies, etc. served during the party. Ceyhan Hancıoğlu, the general manager of HDI Sigorta, received the Green Office Certificate from Engin Şenol, the general manager of the WWF, and cut the cake together with the entire green office team.
