  06.05.2011

Most probably, the, a ´double digit´ growth ratess we were used to before the crisis, will not return soon in the CEE countries.

Still, there are clear signs of recovery in the region. Looking further to the East, the CIS insurance markets offer huge possibilities of growth, as the CIS economies were less hit by the crisis and their insurance industries are still very young. This is why, getting as much as possible information about all these market may be vital for the European players, looking for future growth reserves. Twice a year, the Special Report offers you the necessary tool to asses the region's progress, said Daniela GHETU, Editorial Director, PRIMM Publications.

For all the 26 countries analyzed, the current edition of the report contains an extensive analysis of the insurance market structure, as well as the insurance companies rankings considering the main market segments: life insurance, and, respectively, non-life insurance. Last but not least, where data were available, the report publishes rankings of insurance companies for the dominant classes of insurance. Financial data are converted in European currency, to assure comparability, and presented also by reference to the correspondant period of the previous year.

Thus, in addition to insurance markets in Turkey and Russia, 17 CEE countries - Albania, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia - and the 7 countries from CIS region - Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Ukraine and Uzbekistan - are analyzed.

In the second part of the report, the financial results and the latest news about the major insurance groups in CEE (ALLIANZ, AXA, ERGO, EUREKO, GENERALI, GROUPAMA, ING, KBC, PZU, TRIGLAV, UNIQA and VIG) and in CIS (INGOSSTRAKH and ROSGOSSTRAKH) are presented.

End of the report proposes a review of the most important events for the insurance and reinsurance market that took place in 2010: FIAR 2010, CEA - International Insurance Conference, Les Rendez-Vous de September, Yalta Forum and Istanbul International Insurance Conference, and two interviews: Michaela KOLLER, Director General, CEA, and Nic de MAESSCHALCK, Director, BIPAR.
