The stand, which is located in Europe hall, is one of the largest stands where a total of 25 companies represented their products and services to buyers and attendees. Besides ICVB and Antalya Convention Bureau, Turkish Airlines both Istanbul - Harbiye Office and Los Angeles office, convention centres, hotels, venues, and DMCs took part in Turkey stand. Moreover, Los Angeles Attaché Şahika Günten Aydın and New York Attaché Ebru Ejder attended IMEX America.
Turkey was one of the hosts of EURO Party which is held in cooperation of 21 European destinations at IMEX America 2012.
Turkish saxophone master and composer Ilhan Ersahin and percussionist Tunç Boyaciyan performed at the EURO Party in Turkey stand. Moreover, 50 signed-CDs of Ilhan Ersahin were given to hosted buyers at the EURO Party. Guests enjoyed music of famous Turkish artists and enjoyed premium bar service for two hours. World famous Turkish coffee by Kurukahveci Mehmet Efendi is also served for the comfort of attendees during their visit at Turkey stand.
Special for this year, Turkey welcomed guests with a photo corner where photographs of hosted buyers are taken and in minutes received their perfect souvenir photo with frame as a memory of Istanbul.
During IMEX America, ICVB is represented by ICVB Vice President Yılmaz Tecmen, ICVB General Manager Elif Balcı Fisunoğlu, and ICVB Sales & Marketing Coordinators Çağla Demircioğlu and Ayça Şentop. ICVB welcomed over 150 hosted buyers at Turkey stand for the group presentations and made more than 60 pre-scheduled appointments with different size of congress, convention and incentive groups.
Moreover, ICVB, which celebrates its 15th year in business, will welcome 5 hosted buyers in Istanbul as part of a familiarization trip. ICVB and Turkish Airlines will host 5 international hosted buyers in Istanbul. The familiarization trip includes Turkish Airlines round trip ticket, 3 days FAM trip featuring 3 night five-star accommodation, transfers, meals, site visits and city tours.
IMEX America Chairman Ray Bloom said that the show had hosted 2,400 buyers from across North America and 43 other global markets – 20% more than last year. In addition, the trade show had also welcomed around 1,700 attendees.
