Turkey is world’s 19th most valuable nation brand
According to results from research conducted by branding valuation consultancy Brand Finance on top “Brand Nations”, Turkey, with a brand value of 487 billion dollars, has become the world’s most valuable 19th nation.
Exports up 3.6 pct on defense orders
Turkey’s exports in June were up 3.59 percent when compared to the same period last year, reaching a total of $11.8 billion, Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TİM) Chairman Mehmet Büyükekşi said yesterday in a press conference held at the Rize Chamber of Trade in the northeastern province of Rize.
Turkey’s exports are on the rise while economic growth persists
Turkey’s economic growth has surpassed expectations at 3.2 percent for the first quarter of the year and during a time when the economic crisis had reached a peak. The foreign trade deficit, the Turkish economy’s soft spot, continued to improve in May. The deficit contracted by 15.5 percent last month year-on-year to $8.5 billion, the Turkish Statistical Institute’s data show.

Turkey, Azerbaijan sign major pipeline deal
Turkey signed a deal with Azerbaijan to build the $7 billion Trans-Anatolian natural gas pipeline (TANAP) to carry Azeri gas to European markets today. Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yıldız and his Azeri counterpart Natiq Aliyev put their signatures on the agreement.
